True Love....

I want to share something with you that has been very helpful to me through my life and I hope will be of help to you also.
LOVE ...................................... 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Love is patient. Love is kind.
Love isn't jealous
and doesn't sing its own praises.
It isn't arrogant. It isn't rude.
It doesn't think only about itself
and isn't irritable.
Love doesn't keep track of wrongs.
It isn't happy when injustice is done,
but it is happy with the truth.
Love never stops being patient,
never stops believing,
never stops hoping, never gives up.
Love never comes to an end.
I think you know that sometimes people let you down, they don't always live up to your expectations, sometimes they hurt you and can leave you feeling rejected and broken inside.
These things happen because people are human, they don't always intend to hurt or make you feel bad, but a person can easily make mistakes, especially when they don't understand love or how it works.
Sometimes we even hurt others and make the same mistakes which cause ill feelings to another person.
I want to tell you, there is a way to experience true love and to share it with others without the hurt and selfishness.
First you need to know where love comes from and to accept the love that has been offered to you. You will then be able to share and experience love in a way that is new and vibrant, exciting and fulfilling.
If you are having trouble with a math problem, you ask your teacher.
But if you were having trouble with the whole text book, who would be better to ask?
Your teacher may be some help, but the best person to give you understand would be the writer of the text book. The person who invented the theory knows the most about it.
So if you want to know about love and how to understand it the best person to ask is the inventor of love.
That person is God.
God loves us so much that He gave his only son (Jesus) to die in our place.
Jesus (the son of God) loves us so much that he was willing to die in our place.
So what does this have to do with anything? I have heard this so many times and it does not make any real sense.
Just imagine that you are married, you love your husband with everything that is inside you. He is handsome and strong, you feel safe with him and feel happy that you are his one true love, forever. Nothing else matters as long as you are together.
Then one day he comes home from work and he has another woman with him. He says that he loves this woman and she will live with us from now on. How do you feel?
Some time later he brings home another woman and then another and another.
He says to you, I love these women, I do not love you so much anymore.
How would you feel?
Eventually he says, I dont love you anymore, get out of my house.
This is exactly what we (the human race) did to God. ...................... Genesis chapter 2 and 3
He created us to be in an intimate personal relationship with Him and to love Him more than anything else.
He asked us to be faithful to Him, just like in a marriage.
He gave us a choice and our own free will.
He said you can choose to live with me and have a wonderful eternal life.
Or you can choose your own way, but the penalty will be death.
We became unfaithful to our husband.
and the end result is death.
Death is the payment for our unfaithfulness (sin)
Hang on, I thought I was talking about LOVE
.
John 3:16 says; God loved the world (people) so much that He gave His only Son (Jesus) so that any person who believes in Him will not die but will be given eternal life.
Now this is real love;
God wasn't happy that we were unfaithful to him but He loved us so much that he wanted us back. Can you imagine taking back an unfaithful husband? Wouldn't you be afraid that he would do it again.
God knew that people would always remain unfaithful , so He made a way for the death penalty to be paid without the people dying for their unfaithfulness.
He sent His son to earth and gave Him a human body so He could be born and live life, just as we do, but without sin.
Jesus was a human man that was never unfaithful, He always chose Gods way.
Jesus is always patient and kind.
He is not jealous
and does not sing His own praises.
He is not arrogant or rude.
He does not think only about Himself
and is not irritable.
Jesus doesn't keep track of wrongs.
He isn't happy when injustice is done,
and is always happy with the truth.
Jesus never stops being patient,
never stops believing,
never stops hoping and never gives up.
Because Jesus was never unfaithful, he had the right to eternal life.
but He chose to give up that right as a substitute for us, who were unfaithful.
He died in our place. He paid the penalty that we owed.
This is true Love.
After Jesus died on the cross, He proved that he had been faithful by rising again and showing Himself to many people.
He then ascended to heaven while they were watching and is now sitting at the right hand of God.
Jesus Christ will have no end
Jesus is Love
.
This is why we all must accept Jesus. Being part of a religion is not enough by its self. Jesus is the one who paid for our sin and it is only by accepting Him that we can become acceptable to God.
I ask you to please accept Jesus as your saviour. He will become your best friend and always be faithful to you. When other people hurt you, He will be there to help you through it and to comfort you. He will teach you real love that never fails and give you the desires of your heart.
Pray this;
Dear father God, I believe that Jesus died for me and that you raised Him from the dead. I ask that you forgive me for the sins that I have committed and that Jesus come into my life and be my Lord and saviour. Please help me to build a relationship with Jesus and guide me in all that I do. I pray this in Jesus name amen.
